The National Child Research Center (NCRC) seeks skilled and creative Directing (Lead) Teachers and Resource (assisting) Teachers for full-time positions, working with 2-5 year olds, for the 2023-2024 school year.
Located in the historic district of Cleveland Park, Washington DC, NCRC is home to a collaborative, committed, and dynamic professional learning community. We utilize an emergent, play-based curriculum and include children who have special needs or benefit from additional support. Our faculty includes a speech pathologist, counselor, occupational therapist, and pedagogista who participate in all aspects of the program. The NCRC faculty, with the support of our director of diversity and community, works thoughtfully and intentionally towards equity; we seek and celebrate the diversity within and beyond our school.
Qualified Directing Teacher Candidates will have an undergraduate degree in early childhood education, early childhood special education, or in a closely related educational field such as elementary education or child development. A graduate degree in early childhood education, special education, or in a closely related educational field is preferred. They will be committed to inclusive education and have prior experience in working with young children and/or children with special needs.
Qualified Resource Teacher Candidates will have either a current CDA OR an AA in any discipline. BA preferred, as well as experience in early childhood classrooms.
