The University of North Alabama’s College of Education and Human Sciences invites applications for the position of tenure-track, rank open faculty in Instructional Technology & Design within the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Leadership. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s degree and experience. Appointment will be effective with the Fall 2023 semester. Primary duties will include advising, mentoring, and teaching online graduate students, conducting scholarly research, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and providing service the department, college, university, community, and profession.

Minimum qualifications include: an earned doctorate in instructional design, educational technology, or a closely-related field from an accredited university is required (ABD by summer 2023 will be considered); experience in and/or the ability to deliver online instruction is required; demonstrated ability of, or strong promise of efficacy in the college learning environment, in particular a demonstrated ability to teach a full range of courses currently being offered in the ITD program, is preferred; demonstrated professional dispositions, including flexibility, adaptability, embracing equity, responsiveness, reflective teaching practices, and strong work ethic is preferred; evidence of, or strong potential for, developing an active and significant research program in the area of instructional technology or a closely-related field is preferred; experience with Quality Matters, learning management systems, software used in the field, and technologies associated with immersive, augmented environments is preferred; prior instructional design and workforce training experience is preferred; and a demonstrated ability to contribute to course and program development is preferred.
