Associate or Assistant Professor in Early Childhood/Elementary Education (Tenure Track) John Carroll University
Duties and Responsibilities The Department of Education and School Psychology invites applications for a tenure track position as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Early Childhood/Elementary Education to begin fall 2020. The university is dedicated to a balance of scholarship, teaching and service. Including graduate and undergraduate courses, teaching load is 9 hours per semester (3 classes) with small class sizes of 10 to 20 students. Expectations also include program coordination and service to the university and profession.
The department is fully accredited (2019) by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

Earned doctorate in education with an emphasis in early childhood or elementary education;
Substantial teaching experience in elementary level schools;
Evidence of scholarship relevant to elementary education;
Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in elementary methods;
Ability to coordinate initial licensure programs in elementary education
Experience teaching courses in elementary teacher education;
Experience with advising and supervising teacher education candidates;
Scholarly record in an area of elementary education or a related field;
Active participation in state/national professional organizations and community outreach;
Expertise in teacher education scholarship, curriculum and assessment;
Experience in program coordination or related leadership role
