St. Mark Preschool and Enrichment Center is seeking a part time teacher for it's Kindergarten Enrichment class. Our Kindergarten Enrichment program is a STEAM based curriculum that offers children the opportunity to explore topics beyond those they study in the local districts' kindergarten class. Responsibilities include teaching a group of 5-10 kindergarten students in the morning and working in the preschool day care before and/or after class time. Duties include implementing St. Mark's STEAM based curriculum, designing and creating projects for children, assisting children in completing projects, and supervising lunch and activities in our large motor room and playground.
St. Mark Preschool and Enrichment Center has been developing confidence and self-esteem of children in our community for over 50 years. Our revamped curriculum allows children to experience an inquiry-based learning with an emphasis on art, science, and technology. Students learn by making and doing all while developing social skills in a play based environment.
Job Types: Part-time 30-35 hours per week
Salary: $15.00 to $17.00 /hour depending on experience
Candidate must be director qualified per DCFS guidelines. A degree in early childhood is preferred or at least 60 semester hours from an accredited college or university with 18 semester or 27 quarter hours in courses related directly to child development. Two to five years experience in early childhood is required. Candidate must enjoy working with children, be dependable, warm, patient, flexible, and have a sense of humor.

About St. Mark Preschool and Enrichment Center
St. Mark Preschool and Enrichment Center has been serving families in Mt. Prospect and the surrounding Northwest suburbs for over 50 years. St. Mark Preschool is DCFS licensed for children ages 3-6. The program's focus is child centered with an emphasis on learning through self-discovery and all the senses, encouraging curiosity and assisting children to develop at their own pace. We are a play based center with a curriculum that encourages inquiry-based learning with an emphasis on art, science, and technology. Our program encouages the growth of the whole child: physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and creatively in a Christian environment. Our center is made up of a staff of approximately 10-12 teachers and aides and we serve 55-60 children throughout the school year. We are open year round offering mini camps and full day care during the summer. The center is open Monday though Friday from 7am to 6pm.
