POSITION TITLE: SPECIALIST, CCAMPISRECRUITMENT & PARENTSUPPORT STATUS: Part-Time MINIMUMPAYRATE: $20.41 per hour
POSITIONSUMMARY Serve as a liaison between enrolled Early Childhood Center families and recruit within Joliet Junior College and the community with a focus on low income/1st generation student-parents that have children enrolled in or who are eligible for enrollment in the Early Childhood Center. Occasionally works during evening and weekend hours, and travels to off-site meetings. This position will have responsibilities for creating, distributing, and reporting data collected from surveys, applications, and recruitment efforts within the community and Joliet Junior College. This position will have responsibilities within the classroom to assist teaching staff and substituting for teacher’s when required. One of this position’s requirements is a registry membership through Gateways to Opportunity, Illinois Professional Development System and a valid Driver’s license for moving to different campuses and transporting materials and setting up college displays on and off campus. Some evenings and weekends required.
ESSENTIALJOBDUTIESANDKEYRESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assist the teachers in the Early Childhood Center in building close relationships with the families 2. Provide classroom coverage in teachers’ absence. 3. Assist with enrollment process; provide referrals and support through application process for CCAMPIS and other opportunities for subsidized child care; verify eligibility. 4. Assures that all center-level documentation and reports are complete, up-to-date, and accurate for all enrolled children of the Early Childhood Center. 5. Organize and provide early care and education workshops, parent education nights and community services. 6. Offers assistance and support for student-parents applying for the Child Care Assistance Program 7. Develop and provide support to the Parents as Educational Partners Committee (PEP); facilitate Family Events, Parent Education series; Curriculum Days and offer community-based support and coaching to parents. 8. Actively recruit 9. Collect data necessary for record keeping and reporting for this grant; create and maintain materials, flyers and training materials. 10. Maintain databases, track recruiting activities, and generate monthly reports. 11. Regularly meet with manager and teaching staff and assist with developing appropriate programs for student-parents and their families. 12. Follow the NAEYC’s Code of Ethics and best practices in the accreditation process. 13. Attend off-site monthly meetings as assigned by the ECC manager 14. Participate in the goals & objectives of the CCAMPIS grant and Early Childhood Center 15. Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS 1. Associate’s Degree. 2. Two (2) years of experience in a similar position. 3. 21 credits in Child Development or Early Childhood Education 4. Registry membership through Gateways to Opportunity 5. Current CPR and First-Aid, AED 6. Minimum of a Level I Early Childhood Education credential. 7. Must be 21 years of age. 8. Some evening and weekend work required. 9. Strong communication and computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS 1. Bachelor Degree in Child Development, or an advanced degree in social services or related field with a minimum of 21 college credits in coursework related directly to child care and/or child development. 2. Bi-lingual (Spanish). 3. Familiarity with financial support programs for college students and childcare. 4. Working knowledge of PowerPoint and Publisher.
