This opportunity supports the Global Bomber program at Edwards Air Force Base, CA as a part of the J-Tech II contract, a 15 year service contract that started July 2018.
The candidate will work with support agencies as part of a flight test team. Duties and responsibilities include reviewing, writing and updating planning documents and various other reports, attending meetings and ensuring the approval process is followed in accordance with local and government regulations.
The candidate will ensure that all resources are provided to individuals supporting this task and will maintain open and frequent communications with support agencies.
The candidate will provide input to test cards, control room screen development, generate necessary checklists, as well as request and analyze data in accordance with local and/or technical expert direction.
The Navigation engineer will have experience with various navigation systems such as Global Positioning System (GPS), GPS jamming, Inertial Navigation System (INS), Instrument Landing System (ILS) and Auto Pilot.
GPS expertise is a must.
Candidate must have a valid, current state driver's license.
Must possess an active, current Top Secret security clearance.
The candidate must have comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering to provide consultative services on development programs and in the design and development of systems and components.
The position requires knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve complex problems in the specialty area.
The candidate must have excellent communication and analytical skills and must possess effective planning/ organizing skills.
The candidate must have a working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools.
The candidate must possess well-developed and demonstrated leadership skills and have the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems from a broad prospective.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) accredited academic institution and 8 years of related engineering experience or Master of Science in Engineering with at least 6 years of related engineering experience or An accredited doctoral degree in Engineering with at least 4 years of related engineering experience.
