The teacher position is responsible for the general supervision and management of a classroom group of children, who can be between the ages of six weeks through five years of age.

This is a full time position and the person who fills this job will need to be flexible and adaptable to different classroom environments and be able to work M-F between the hours of 6:30am and 6:00pm (40 hour work week). Typical work day is 9am - 6pm.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: •Plan, organize and implement monthly and daily developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children in his/her group. •Prepare and post weekly lesson plans and activities, including the times for meals and snacks, naps, inside and outside, quiet and active, group, teacher-directed and child-initiated activities. •Assess the skills and progress of each child in own group. •Maintain on a daily basis the children's rosters, changing logs and daily reports. •Interact frequently with the children, with respect and affection, at their eye level. •Use appropriate guidance techniques with children, defining and maintaining clear, consistent and fair limits for classroom behavior, using redirection and encouragement of appropriate behavior. •Establish and maintain regular, two-way communication with children's parents. •As a mandated reporter, report any suspected or alleged child abuse or neglect. •Maintain toys, materials and equipment in clean condition, by following the posted disinfecting schedule. •Help to maintain cleanliness standards by washing or helping the child to wash, before and after each meal and after toileting and when necessary, changing a child's clothing when wet or soiled.
Skills/ Requirements Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
License Requirements: •Must satisfy Department of Health Services (DHS) licensure requirements for valid First Aid and Infant & Child CPR certifications, Fingerprint Clearance Card, Negative results of a Mantoux TB test. 18 years of age or older.
